The Super Eagles Has Been Knocked Out Of The AFCON Tournament After Bamidele Promised The Team

The Super Eagles advanced to the round of 16 Knockout stage after playing just two matches. The fans are very proud of the performances from the players, but things didn’t go the right way tonight.

Nigeria was drawn against Tunisia and the team didn’t get the result they wanted. The Super Eagles are the first team to win their first three matches in the tournament and we expect them to go far in the AFCON tournament.

What Happened To The Super Eagles Against Tunisia?

One of the reasons why Nigeria lost the game is that the Super Eagle manager made a wrong decision by involving Alex Iwobi into the game in the second. He had a lot of attacking options on the bench, but why the underperforming Alex Iwobi?

The team lost that confidence after the goal conceded and the red card in the second half. Nigeria played really well and they dominated the game, but the goal never came. The Super Eagles played 4 shots and three shots off target.

Nigeria cannot play a team like Tunisia with only 10 men. After Tunisia scored the goal in the second half, they defend the game until the final whistle. I think that Nigeria could have won the game if not for the red card.

Did The Promise Made By Bamidele Affect The Team?

We all know how the Super Eagles started the tournament with a performance to remember against Egypt and the other countries in the group. Nigeria won three straight games and kept two clean sheets.

The fans thought that Nigeria are the favorite country to win the trophy after the performances in the last three matches. Before the game tonight, the Super Eagle captain received a call from Bamidele.

Bamidele Onalaja promised the players a huge amount of money and also a plot of land each, if they won the AFCON 2021. The Super Eagle captain spoke with him before the game and Bamidele told him to deliver his message to the players.

Ahmed Musa promised to tell the players what Bamidele said to him and the Super Eagles captain gave him an assurance that the players will give their all tonight. The Super Eagles couldn’t secure the victory.

Bamidele claimed that they appreciate the performances from the Super Eagles over the past few weeks, but they want to reward them if they win Tunisia tonight. He promised that they are going to pay one million per goal scored in the tournament, starting tonight.

After the promised made, he also added, we’ll give the players a plot of land in any location of your choice. Even if it’s Abuja or Lagos, they will fulfill their promises if they win the AFCON 2021.

In my own opinion, they shouldn’t have made the promise until the Super Eagles win the AFCON. We all know that some of the players might become selfish and they are not going to create chances for their teammates as they want to be on the Scoresheet.

These players are already earning big at their clubs, so I don’t think that this is the right time to promise the players.
