Alejandro Garnacho scored his first Manchester United goal and celebrated like his idol Ronaldo.
Alejandro Garnacho made a sensational debut for Manchester United by giving the Red Devils a 1-0 lead against Real Sociedad.
Erik ten Hag gave the 18-year-old youngster his second start of the season after seeing how well she performed against Sheriff Tiraspol last week at Old Trafford.
And he capitalized on his chance by scoring the first goal in the last Europa League group stage match.
The Argentine prodigy showed off some real speed before delivering a superb left-footed finish while off balance after being supplied in behind by his hero Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sociedad entered the last match with an undefeated record in the group stage, therefore United needed to win by a margin of two goals or more to take first place and avoid having to play one of the third-place Champions League teams, who are entering the competition, in a play-off.
Last week, Garnacho made his debut in a professional game. He only returned to the field so he could leave with his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.
I don’t know if it’s real or if I’m dreaming, he captioned a photo of himself with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner that he posted on social media thereafter.
He then scored his first goal this evening, and it appears that Ten Hag has taken note of him.
Garnacho is lots of speed and talent and enjoys entertaining down the left wing. He scored twice in United’s FA Youth Cup victory over Nottingham Forest last season.
