Ansu Fati missed out as Luis Enrique invited 6 Barcelona players for Spain national team duty.
Luis Enrique has named the Spain squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League encounters against Switzerland and Portugal over the next couple of weeks. And as many as six Barcelona players have made the cut to the 25-man roster.
Spain will lock horns against Switzerland and Iberian rivals Portugal in the Nations League as they prepare for the FIFA World Cup in November. These matches will provide Lucho with a final chance to look at his players closely before the big tournament in Qatar.
And Barcelona have as many as six representatives in the Spain squad for the upcoming fixtures.
As was expected, captain Sergio Busquets was selected, along with fellow midfielders Pedri and Gavi, whose inclusion was also expected given their outstanding performance thus far in the season.
Another player chosen by Enrique is Eric Garcia, who is entirely appropriate given that he has been one of Barça’s top players thus far this season.

Along with the foursome, the Spain coach has chosen to include Jordi Alba in the roster despite concerns about his prospects of making it after his reduced activity this season.
The final Barcelona player on the Spain team is Ferran Torres. Another player who has not been playing frequently this season is the 22-year-old, but Enrique has enough confidence in the forward to give him a chance to board the flight to Qatar.
Ansu Fati, however, is a repeat offender for Spain. Due to previous injury difficulties, the 19-year-old has been used cautiously by Barcelona this season, and it appears that Enrique does not want to rush him back into his plans for La Roja either.
