Anthony Martial breaks silence after he came from the bench to score a brace against Manchester City.
Anthony Martial made a statement on Manchester City’s 6-3 thumping of Manchester United on Sunday.
On Sunday, Anthony Martial resumed playing for the team for the first time since the 2-1 victory over Liverpool at the end of August.
Martial, who entered the game as a substitute, did well to save what little Manchester United’s reputation remained by scoring twice in the game’s last 10 minutes.
Martial’s appearance and performance in a game where the Red Devils were thoroughly humiliated allowed supporters to still look on the bright side of some parts of the dismal defeat.
After the loss, Martial told Canal+ that he was grateful for the opportunity to play again, despite the disappointing final result.

The French striker admitted, “I would have rather not to score and win this game.”
“However, it’s always satisfying to return to the field and score.
“We’re pretty angry. Although it wasn’t what we intended to do, the outcome is what it is, and we will do everything in our power to return for the next game.
Similar to Christian Eriksen, Martial has realized that accepting a defeat as it is, taking the lessons from it, and moving on to the next game are among the greatest things to do.
Then, he said, “they were incredibly efficient with the chances they had. We started the game really poorly.”
The situation is really problematic, but it is what it is, and we will take all necessary steps to prepare for the upcoming match.
The Europa League matchup between United and Omonia Nicosia comes on Thursday night.
Martial declared, “I feel really well, but regrettably, I was injured and did not play in many games this year.
When asked if his season as a whole could be launched by this performance, the striker responded, “Sure, I’ve got my own aims.”
