Antony’s agent in Manchester for talks over Man Utd transfer as Ajax hold out on £68m transfer fee as Ronaldo’s future remains uncertain.
According to reports, a Representative for Ajax winger Antony is in Manchester to talk about a potential transfer to Manchester United.
Throughout the summer transfer window, the Brazilian winger has been associated with the Red Devils.
According to The Times, one of his agents is currently in the North West meeting with United.
Ajax, the reigning Dutch champions, are reportedly demanding £68 million for the 22-year-old attacker.
It’s believed that United’s £51 million offer for Antony was turned down earlier this month.
However, manager Erik ten Hag is still eager to close a deal.
After securing a £55 million swoop for defender Lisandro Martinez, Ten Hag is looking to raid his old club once more.
However, an attacker is still a top priority before the transfer window closes.
The Red Devils have added playmaker Christian Eriksen and left-back Tyrell Malacia to their roster in addition to Martinez, but they still need to strengthen their attack.
Ten Hag, however, has stated that, given the busy schedule of games, adding another forward is “vital.”
The future of Cristiano Ronaldo is also uncertain.
The United manager responded when asked about adding another attacker: “I think it’s vital if you want to get success, the season is really long.
“That is a factor, along with the quantity of games. You require more offensive options. However, there is still time for us to complete that.
“We are extremely happy to have signed (Christian) Eriksen for the midfield. I am very pleased with how the offense and midfield are playing right now.
“However, I also realize that this season has many games and the World Cup, so we need more options.
“We have a good team, but we need a good squad to finish the season with the right results,” the coach said.
