Arsenal 6-0 Sevilla highlights: Gabriel Jesus scores hat-trick as Gunners win Emirates Cup.
The Gunners’ final preseason game before the start of the new season is against Sevilla in the Emirates Cup.
At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal will face Sevilla. With a 2-1 loss to Brentford in the middle of the week, the Gunners’ unblemished preseason streak came to an end. A second-string and young team fell to the team that won the league opener last season.
For the home Emirates fans, this will be their first chance to watch new additions Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Gabriel Jesus in action. Injury has prevented Fabio Vieira from playing thus far, although there have been signs that he might play today.
There will be plenty of signs in the starting lineup about how Mikel Arteta might line up his team for Friday’s Premier League season opener at Selhurst Park.
To start off what many consider to be an exciting season in the proper way, a 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace there from last season will need to be changed.
In the week leading up to the game, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu both returned to training, and their participation—or lack thereof—will provide a fair indication of how they’re progressing for the opening game.
But ultimately, Arsenal supporters will want to see the team performing at its best.
