Arsenal joined Real Madrid and Barcelona in the race to sign Brazilian wonderkid next summer.
Arsenal appears to be joining Barcelona and Real Madrid in the fight to recruit Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick, according to rumors in England, as reported by SPORT.
The 16-year-old forward is one of South American football’s brightest prospects right now and is being watched by some of the top clubs in Europe.
After making his senior debut for the Brazilian juggernauts recently, Endrick has made quick progress and is already a member of Palmeiras’ first team after making his debut during the Copinha tournament earlier this year.
Naturally, the adolescent star is drawing a lot of attention given his outstanding track record of scoring goals for club and country at the youth levels.
Barcelona has long been said to be interested in the 16-year-old, and the player even paid them a visit earlier this year.
More recently, the Catalan behemoths met with his entourage to express their desire to recruit him and said they would start negotiations with Palmeiras at the end of the current campaign.
However, the Blaugrana are up against stiff competition from their arch-rivals Real Madrid, who have recently had great success with Brazilian youth players. Additionally, Arsenal has officially joined the competition to sign Endrick.
Thanks to sporting director Edu, the Gunners now have excellent contacts in Brazil. Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Jesus, and Marquinhos are among a strong group of Brazilian players they have in their ranks. These elements might be advantageous to them in the competition for Endrick’s services.
The 16-year-old forward committed to Palmeiras in July by signing his first professional contract, which binds him to the organization through 2025. And clubs might need up to €70 million to sign him.
Endrick is anticipated to transfer to Europe when he turns 18 and is considered to be the biggest potential in Brazil after Neymar. It is still unclear whether he will move on to Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal, or another team entirely.
