Arsenal’s New Signing Oleksandr Zinchenko Is The Second-Most Successful Player In Premier League History.
Oleksandr Zinchenko, the new boy at Arsenal, is the player with the second-highest win percentage in Premier League history.
Zinchenko, 25, made a £32 transfer from Manchester City to Arsenal on Friday and agreed to a four-year contract at the Emirates.
After six years at the Etihad, he departs City, having won four Premier League championships, one FA Cup, and four EFL Cups.
The international from Ukraine played 76 times for City in the Premier League, winning 62 of them for a remarkable win percentage of 81.6.
He is now second only to former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben in the all-time Premier League win percentage rankings for players who have participated in at least 50 games.
Between 2004 and 2007, former Netherlands international Robben amassed an astounding win percentage of 82.1 by winning 55 of his 67 league games for the Blues.
Aymeric Laporte, a former City teammate of Zinchenko’s, is third on the list with an 81.5 win percentage after winning 88 of his 108 Premier League games.
Due to the team’s remarkable consistency in recent seasons under Pep Guardiola, eight of the top 10 are currently playing or former members of Manchester City.
According to statistics provided by Opta, Phil Foden (79.5%), Bernardo Silva (77.1%), Ilkay Gundogan (76.4%), Ederson (76.4%), Gabriel Jesus (76.1%), and Leroy Sane (75.6%) are also included in the top 10.
The only other player in the top 10 besides Robben is Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita, who is fifth on the list with a win percentage of 77.6. Keita did not play for Manchester City.
Zinchenko joins Jesus at the Emirates as the fifth player to sign with Arsenal during the summer transfer window and the second player to come from Manchester City.
At the Gunners’ preseason training camp in Orlando, Florida, Zinchenko met his new teammates and could make his team debut against Chelsea on Sunday.
The final preseason match for Mikel Arteta’s team is against Sevilla on Saturday before their away Premier League opener against Crystal Palace on August 5.
