Barcelona are prepared to sign €60 million Brazilian right-back as they want to invest in that position next summer.
Barcelona may have just closed the summer transfer window, but they have already begun making plans for the following summer.
The Blaugrana’s first priority will be finding a long-term replacement for captain Sergio Busquets, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
Now, according to SPORT, Barcelona also intends to spend a significant amount of money in the summer of 2023 to recruit a new right-back.
Hector Bellerin was acquired by the Catalans this summer on a free transfer on the deadline day. The former La Masia star, though, has a one-year deal with the organization.
On top of that, Sergi Roberto’s contract also stands to run out next year, which means the Blaugrana will be without a right-back on the roster.
So, there are already preparations in place for the summer of 2019 to bring in a top-tier right-sided full-back. Trent Alexander-Arnold, a defender for Liverpool, is reportedly a player the Catalan giants are interested in.
However, according to the aforementioned rumor, Barcelona is interested in signing Vanderson, a right defender for AS Monaco. The 21-year-old, who transferred from Gremio to the Ligue 1 team in January of this year, is highly regarded and has performed admirably throughout his brief stay in Europe.
Vanderson has played 29 times for Monaco thus far, contributing two goals and three assists. Due to his potential, the Brazilian prospect is ‘loved’ at Barcelona.
He is under contract until 2027, and Barça would find it challenging because of his enormous €60 million price.
In addition, the Catalans are still keeping tabs on Julian Araujo of the LA Galaxy despite missing out on a deadline day to sign the Mexican international. With intentions to splash the dough on a new right-back next year, it will be interesting to watch who they opt to sign.
