Barcelona are ready to go head-to-head with Real Madrid for the signature of Erling Haaland in summer 2024.
Following his great achievements at Manchester City this season, Erling Haaland is currently the man in demand in Europe.
In just 11 competitive games, the forward has scored 17 goals, including three in the most recent Manchester derby. Not even two months into his time at Manchester City, it propelled him into the top tier of European goal scorers.
But according to a recent report from El Chiringuito, Haaland might not hang at Etihad Stadium for very long. This is due to the international player from Norway’s estimated €200 million release clause with Man City. It is switchable beginning in the summer of 2024.
When his release clause kicks in, the news source said that the forward will prioritize a move to Real Madrid. Oriol Domenech, however, has added to the story and stated that Barcelona may also be in a position to recruit the young player.

Domenech thinks that in 2024, Barça has the option to exercise the €200 million release clause. Especially in terms of the team’s sports future, the Catalans might not have too much trouble persuading the forward to sign with them given the club’s stellar start under Xavi Hernandez.
However, Haaland’s pay could ultimately have a big impact. Since leaving Borussia Dortmund, the international player from Norway has been refusing to accept anything less than outrageous compensation.
With that in mind, Barcelona may be in a difficult position, especially in light of their excessive pay cost, which has made it challenging for the team to even register the new players.
Therefore, a move for Haaland now seems unlikely, even if there is any truth to rumors that the forward has a €200 million release clause in 2024.
Robert Lewandowski, who has similarly had a stellar start to his career at Camp Nou, is currently employed by Barcelona. In nine games, the Polish international has scored 12 goals and recorded two assists.
