Barcelona are set to make a move for Brazilian right-back in the winter after Deadline day failure.
Barcelona attempted to sign Mexican right-back Julian Araujo from MLS team LA Galaxy on the final day of the summer transfer season, but the deal fell through.
After missing out on Cesar Azpilicueta and Juan Foyth, the Blaugrana resumed their search for a new right-back and made the 21-year-old player a potential target late in the transfer window.
With so little time remaining in the transfer window, they were unable to negotiate a deal with LA Galaxy, therefore a trade did not materialize.
Now, Fabrizio Romano is saying that Barcelona will keep an eye on the 21-year-old potential over the coming few months even if they missed the deadline to sign Araujo. But a number of other European teams are also keeping an eye on the teenage defender.

Araujo joined the LA Galaxy academy in 2018 and has now spent more than two years in the first team’s system.
In his 100 games, the right defender has contributed one goal and twelve assists. He is highly regarded and has made three appearances for the Mexican national team.
Barcelona ultimately acquired Hector Bellerin on a free transfer from Arsenal while missing out on Araujo. The former La Masia prospect’s one-year contract with the team may be a clue that the Catalans have plans for the following season.
If Barcelona comes calling in 2023, Araujo will have more experience under his belt and may be prepared to go from the MLS to La Liga.
The Blaugrana will keep a careful eye on the Mexican international’s development, but for now, LA Galaxy will be where he continues it.
