Lionel Messi's return in 2023

Barcelona want Lionel Messi to return back to the club in the summer 2023 as they believe that he has an unfinished business with the club.

It’s going to be difficult to bring Messi back to the club, as Paris Saint-Germain want to extend his stay at the club.

There have been numerous rumors regarding Lionel Messi’s future in recent months. The former captain of Barcelona is in the last year of his deal with Paris Saint-Germain, and a comeback to Camp Nou has been hotly rumored.

In fact, Messi’s chapter with Barça hasn’t ended, according to club president Joan Laporta, who has raised the possibility of re-signing Messi on numerous occasions.

However, despite the rumors, Barcelona has reportedly been attempting to dampen the excitement surrounding Messi’s potential return to the team next year because they view the operation as being “extremely difficult” to pull off. This is according to journalist Toni Juanmarti on Beteve.

After his contract with Barça expired and the club was unable to offer a renewal, the 35-year-old left Camp Nou last year.

Recent information, however, suggests that Laporta briefly appeared poised to proceed with Messi’s contract extension before changing his mind.

The communication between Messi’s camp and the president of Barcelona has completely broken down as a result.

According to Toni Juanmarti’s update, neither Messi nor his camp have received calls from the club’s side apologizing for the way he left or seeking to repair the relationship.

Therefore, despite the fact that there has been much discussion about a potential return, Barcelona views it as being virtually impossible to pull off at this time.

Additionally, there have been rumors that Messi himself may want to transfer to the Major League Soccer, with Inter Miami being mentioned as a potential location for the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Given that he has performed admirably this season and appears to be enjoying his football, a contract extension at PSG is also a possibility. As things stand, Messi’s return to Barcelona in 2023 appears to be extremely difficult and unlikely to happen.
