Barcelona has reached an agreement over transfer fee and personal terms agreed with Premier League midfielder.
It has long been known that Barcelona is actively working to bring in a new defensive midfielder as soon as feasible. As a result, a number of names have been connected with a move, but Ruben Neves of Wolves has been hailed as the most practical choice for the team.
According to a recent report by Joaquim Piera for SPORT, Barcelona and Wolves have already agreed on a Neves transfer fee and the player’s wage with Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent.
According to the source, Barça had a deal in place for Neves’ transfer in the summer but was unable to finalize it because of their current financial situation.
The transfer of the Portuguese international was unsuccessful despite the pulling of multiple levers. And it implies that the Catalans might try to sign him in January on a loan with a commitment to buy him permanently at the end of the campaign.
However, in order to add any new players, Barcelona would probably need to make a significant sale. And once more, despite the Dutchman’s outstanding performance over the last few games, Frenkie de Jong has been mentioned as a potential sale possibility.
Neves, on the other hand, has long been a target for Barcelona. The midfielder has acknowledged that if the Catalan giants approach him, he would find it difficult to say no.
Recent rumors, however, suggested that the club’s sporting department was not totally convinced that the former FC Porto player is the ideal candidate to succeed captain Sergio Busquets.
Despite this, it appears that everything is set up to sign the Wolves international from Portugal. It will now be interesting to see if Barcelona decides to complete the deal of Neves in the summer or if he arrives earlier than expected in January.
