Barcelona loanee Antoine Griezmann unhappy with decision from Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone.
It is evident that Atletico Madrid will not pay Barcelona a cost of €40 million to sign Antoine Griezmann permanently next summer after he has played just 82 minutes in three league games this season.
The Frenchman’s present contract has a provision that exempts the Rojiblancos from the have to pay the price, providing the 29-year-old plays less than 45 minutes in 50% of the games in which he is available. This puts the Barça loanee in a difficult position.
A recent update, however, indicates that steps would be taken to guarantee that the World Cup champion is utilized more.
According to a MARCA story, Antoine Griezmann’s team is thought to believe that the player won’t be satisfied with merely playing 30 minutes of football each week.
In order to resolve the ongoing unrest, it is asserted that individuals close to the player would put pressure on the Catalan giants to ensure that a reduced sum is reached.
Additional information also seems to indicate that a compromise will ultimately be reached.
Diego Simeone and Antoine Griezmann are rumored to still be optimistic that a solution will be reached.
The 29-year-old is also said to be conscious of the fact that the Argentine boss relies on him and still sees his contribution to the first team as essential.
Barcelona should ideally not budge, but it’s also important to understand that the current Griezmann situation is absolutely untenable for everyone involved.
