Barcelona new contract announcement video for Ousmane Dembele has gone viral for all the wrong reasons as fans mocked them.
Barcelona has been chastised on social media for releasing a simple and unimpressive announcement video for Ousmane Dembele’s new contract.
The France international’s contract with the Blaugrana terminated on June 30, and there was much curiosity about his future.
Ousmane Dembele, on the other hand, has signed a new two-year contract that includes a salary drop but a lot of performance-related bonuses. According to reports, the contract includes a release clause.
Following widespread media coverage, Barcelona formally confirmed the news on Thursday morning.
Dembele’s name was scribbled on a whiteboard with the date ‘2022’ beneath it in the video announcement. To update his stay at the Camp Nou, he wrote it out and replaced it with ‘2024.’
However, it did not go down well on social media, with many criticizing the concept and mocking that cash-strapped Barcelona had the resources to film a decent video:

Dembele has been at Barcelona since 2017, when he arrived as a 20-year-old from Borussia Dortmund for an initial €105 million cost, replacing Neymar after the Brazilian’s record-breaking move to PSG.

In five seasons, he has made 150 appearances, scoring 32 goals and assisted on another 34.
Despite heavy competition from Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, and new arrival Raphinha, the two-footed winger has suffered with injuries and definitely retains the faith of manager Xavi Hernandez.
PSG, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich have all been extensively connected with the World Cup champion.
Dembele will take part in a public signing that will be televised on the club’s official channels, and he will now be allowed to resume first-team training and join the squad for the pre-season tour to the United States.
He had been working alone at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training facility to improve his fitness.
