Barcelona Squad List vs Manchester City: Xavi Hernandez has included Jules Kounde and Dest in today’s game.
Tonight’s midseason friendly between Barcelona and Manchester City will be played with the best of intentions. The money raised at tonight’s event will be used to support ALS research. Despite being a friendly, the game will nonetheless be entertaining, as Joan Laporta noted.
The squad, a 27-man shortlist chosen by Xavi, has been made public by the club ahead of the game. During the regular season, the Spaniard was extremely picky, and he views tonight’s game as no different.
After missing the first two La Liga games, Sergino Dest enters the list. The club wants to get rid of the American this summer before the window closes because Xavi does not trust him.
Jules Kounde, on the other hand, has skipped formal matches because of registration concerns. He will most likely start the game with Gerard Pique, though, as he is a member of the squad tonight.
Because the club has no desire to continue to enjoy Martin Braithwaite and Samuel Umtiti’s existence there, they are not selected. The former won’t go at all, while the latter is about to transfer on loan to Lecce.
