Barcelona winger Raphinha sends clear warning to Real Madrid ahead of El Clasico on Sunday.
Raphinha, a winger for Barcelona, has warned Real Madrid ahead of this weekend’s El Clasico, the first of the 2022–23 La Liga season.
This Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid will play host to Barcelona in the biggest game of the Spanish football season.
It will be a top-of-the-table matchup as Barça and Real currently hold the top two spots in La Liga, with the Catalans leading their longtime rivals on goal differential.
And a victory today would put them three points in front, giving Xavi Hernandez’s team the advantage in the title chase right away.
Raphinha, a recent addition to Barcelona, has issued a strong warning to Real Madrid before of the game, saying that the two-time defending champions of Europe and Spain should be concerned.
The Brazilian winger told Movistar+, “We are the leaders. They are the squad that needs to exercise caution.
Raphinha looks to be confident going into El Clasico despite what transpired on Wednesday against Inter Milan, based on the words he used.
Barcelona was on the verge of being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League when the Nerazzurri held them to a 3-3 draw.
Sergio Busquets, the team’s captain, said after the game that the outcome might have an impact on the team’s attitude going into Sunday’s Clasico.
The seasoned midfielder had stated, “It is obvious to me that this result will damage us for El Clasico.”
Raphinha, who will participate in his first competitive El Clasico, appears to have moved past the Inter Milan disaster and is prepared to face Real Madrid.
After a strong start to life in Barcelona, the Brazilian’s form has dwindled recently. And Xavi and company will be hoping that he rediscovers his mojo this weekend at the Bernabeu.
