Barcelona youngster is expected to bench club veteran Jordi Alba in the next game against Real Sociedad.
Jordi Alba was one of five players removed from the game as Barcelona drew 0-0 with Rayo Vallecano to open the season. This was done to make room for more offensive depth. Although the Spaniard is typically one of the team’s most effective offensive players, he was ineffective last week.
Additionally, Alba appeared inexperienced during preseason, and it was rumored that some Barcelona employees were shocked he started over Alejandro Balde. The 18-year-old was anticipated to replace Alba in the starting lineup after showing promise in the weeks leading up to the league opener.
While it didn’t happen against Rayo, Javi Miguel claims he is set to start as the left-back against Real Sociedad.
Balde has been notified of Xavi’s choice and instructed to train hard in the days coming up to the game.
Balde has been linked to leaving Barcelona, particularly in light of Marcos Alonso’s impending arrival. However, a strong showing in Anoeta might pave the way for his continued success.
According to reports, the Chelsea defender has signed and registered to move to Barcelona. If the club is successful in registering Jules Kounde in time for the game, they intend to make the announcement in the upcoming days.
Balde participated in every single preseason game for Barça and even assisted Raphinha against Inter Miami. In particular, considering Alba is one of the team captains, Barcelona supporters will be hoping the bet pays off.
