Barcelona’s prestigious La Masia youth institution is known for producing promising young stars, and it appears that they may have found yet another extremely rare gem.
Lamine Yamal scored twice on his debut for Barcelona’s Under-19 team on Saturday, September 10. Xavi has already brought him up for first team training this year.
The young person smashed the previous record held by Ansu Fati, a remarkable Barcelona talent, by opening his account at the age of 15 years, 1 month, and 28 days.
Fati never played for the reserve team while at Barcelona and progressed straight from the Under-19 squad to the main team. He didn’t score his first goal for Juvenil A until he was 15 years, 10 months, and 8 days old.
Yamal actually scored two goals to win the match. In a 5-0 victory over CD Ebro, the teenager scored Barca’s third goal, and his performance will likely heighten interest in the player at Barcelona.

The adolescent is already regarded as one of La Masia’s most promising prospects, and Xavi is reportedly already “in love” with the teen’s abilities and potential.
Yamal is a talented, cunning forward who has already been compared to Lionel Messi and Fati. The adolescent has a good eye for goal and can play as a center forward or out wide. His achievements are all the more astounding given that he is currently playing alongside players who are much older.
Although comparing Yamal to the club star is not helpful and would simply put undue pressure on the youngster, Marca has already labeled the player Barcelona’s “mini-Messi.”
But if Yamal can emulate Messi and Fati and become a star for the first team, Barcelona will be overjoyed. Despite only being 19 years old, Fati already holds a number of records for the Catalan giants.
Injury has recently derailed Fati’s development, but the young player is still one of the team’s most promising prospects, and Barcelona will be hoping he can stay healthy and get back on track in 2022–23.
Ansu Discusses Forwards for Barcelona
With the addition of Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski in the summer, Barcelona has no shortage of talented forwards. The battle for positions, according to Fati, who spoke to TUDN about the new additions, is a good sign.
We do indeed have a lot of forwards, but in my opinion that is a good thing. In some games, each of us must be prepared to come off the bench and start from there.
I’m motivated because I’m aware that I can’t unwind,” he stated. “Everyone is aware of how talented Lewandowski and Raphael are. Good competition exists. We all need to be prepared to play because the season is long.
There is no doubt that there is intense competition for spots, but Fati has already shown that there is a route into the first squad from Barcelona’s development system, which should give Yamal plenty of motivation.
