Bayern Munich wants Barcelona fan-favorite Pedri Gonzalez during the summer transfer window.
A shocking allegation made by journalist Sique Rodriguez claims that Bayern attempted to raid Barcelona in 2020 to sign midfield phenom Pedri.
In a very short period of time at the highest level, the 19-year-old has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe. Pedri, who had been signed from Las Palmas in the summer of 2019, spent a season on loan back at his old team before joining Barça in 2020.
Since then, Pedri has established himself as the Blaugrana’s center of the park, making 81 appearances while tallying ten goals and seven assists. He is a stalwart member of both the Spanish national team and La Roja, and he shone for La Roja at the Euros last year.

Furthermore, it has just come to light that Bayern Munich attempted to recruit Pedri from Barcelona even before he made his first-team debut for the team.
In fact, the Bavarian giants contacted Barça shortly after the 2-8 defeat in the Champions League in 2020 to sign Pedri, according to Sique Rodriguez. They were prepared to pay the Catalans about €12 million as compensation for the young genius.
Barcelona, who didn’t want to lose Pedri, did not even pay attention to what Bayern Munich had to say. Two years later, the 19-year-old was a star at the Allianz Arena, putting up a strong performance earlier this week, despite the fact that Barça lost the match.
