Bayern Munich wonderkid Jamal Musiala makes Lionel Messi and Barcelona claim ahead of UEFA Champions League clash.
Barcelona was Jamal Musiala’s favorite team growing up, the sensational Bayern Munich player said in an exclusive interview with BILD.
In a little while, Bayern Munich will play Barça after the two teams were once again placed in the same Champions League group.
With the match rapidly approaching, Musiala, one of the most promising young players in European football right now, has made the intriguing admission that he grew up a fan of Barcelona and Lionel Messi.
My go-to and favorite teams were FC Barcelona. A Messi shirt was mine. I was captivated by the Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets midfield. I could watch their games over and over again,” remarked Musiala.
The German international said that he was looking forward to playing at a filled Camp Nou after Bayern Munich’s previous visit to Barcelona left the stadium with some empty seats.

“The stadium wasn’t packed the last time. It’s going to be different this time. The teen sensation predicted that it would be excellent.
Due to his quick feet and deft dribbling, Musiala has been compared by German icon Lothar Matthaus to Messi. The rising star for Bayern Munich responded to the analogies by saying:
“Lothar Matthäus probably made this comparison because of how I dribble in confined situations. It’s a huge honor for me when a professional like Lothar Matthäus recognizes a minor aspect of my game in Messi since his game is so good.
Barcelona and Bayern will play Viktoria Plzen and Inter Milan, respectively, later tonight to open their respective European campaigns. The two teams will square off at the Allianz Arena the following week before playing the rematch at Camp Nou in October.
