Brazilian and Newcastle midfielder has been shortlisted as a possible Busquets replacement, with Real Madrid interested.
It is well known that Barcelona is looking for a defensive midfielder. The team is in serious need of a suitable long-term replacement as veteran star Sergio Busquets struggles with form and recognition.
According to a source published by Diario SPORT, Bruno Guimaraes appears to be Barcelona’s primary target already. Due to his appealing playing profile, the Newcastle United superstar has emerged as the club’s preferred choice to succeed Busquets in the long term.
Indeed, since moving to Newcastle at the beginning of the year, Guimaraes has grown to rank among the Premier League’s top midfielders.
With his tremendous technical skill and creative ability, he has become the focal point of NUFC’s second line of press.
Due to Guimaraes’ impressive performances, Barcelona is currently looking into the prospect of acquiring him soon.
