Breaking: Man Utd unveiled Lisandro Martinez, fans are already in love with him after his first words as Red Devil.
Lisandro Martinez is eager to begin working for Manchester United now that his transfer from Ajax has been finalized. Martinez will join United for a cost of £46.8 million, with a potential increase to £55.3 million, on a five-year deal with an additional year’s option.
The 24-year-old and Christian Eriksen were seen arriving at Carrington on Tuesday, and they might make their club debuts this weekend against Atletico Madrid or Rayo Vallecano.
The Argentine defender was to be signed by Erik ten Hag’s team, but the deal was still pending a physical before it could be officially disclosed.
Tyrell Malacia and Eriksen were the club’s first two summer signings, and Martinez is the third.
Prior to the transfer window closing, United also want to add a midfielder and a backup goalkeeper. They are also open to adding a right-back.
The 24-year-old stated in a statement following the completion of his transfer: “It’s an honor to join this wonderful football club. I’ve put a lot of effort into getting to this point, and now that I’m here, I’m going to challenge myself even more.
“I’ve had the good fortune to play for winning clubs throughout my career, and I hope to do the same at Manchester United.
There will be a lot of work to do to get to that point, but I am confident that, with my new manager and coaches, and together with my new teammates, we can do it.
“I want to express my gratitude to Ajax and its supporters for all of their help. I had a fantastic experience there, but I believe the time is now to put myself to the test in a different setting. I’m in the ideal club right now to do this.

Martinez will join Juan Sebastian Veron, Gabriel Heinze, Carlos Tevez, Marcos Rojo, Angel di Maria, Sergio Romero, and Alejandro Garnacho as the seventh Argentinian to play for United.
