Breaking: Manchester United has completed the signing of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax, after an agreement reached between the club two clubs this week. He is set for his medical in Manchester.
According to The Athletic, Manchester United and Ajax have agreed on a deal for the sale of Lisandro Martinez.
Martinez, 24, has also agreed to personal terms, and United are hopeful he can join them on their pre-season tour in Australia.
United CEO Richard Arnold and football director John Murtough traveled to Amsterdam to finalize the agreement with Ajax CEO — and former United goalkeeper — Edwin van der Sar.
Martinez has been pursued by Erik ten Hag’s team, and the United boss has secured his services.
According to The Athletic, Manchester United are in discussions with Ajax to finalize a deal for Martinez.

Martinez is alleged to have told the Eredivisie champions that the only option he would consider this summer is to make a move to the premier league, When Ajax renewed his contract in October, it was agreed that if such an opportunity occurred, they would not stand in his way.

Arsenal were also said to be interested in Martinez, but the chance to rejoin with Ten Hag, who managed him at Ajax, is said to have piqued Martinez’s interest.
Martinez appeared 36 times for Ajax last season and seven matches for Argentina.
In Australia, United face Melbourne Victory on Friday, Crystal Palace on Tuesday, and Aston Villa on Saturday.
