BREAKING NEWS: An agreement is in place with Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans as Barcelona dealt blow.
Barcelona’s financial situation is still precarious, and club director Mateu Alemany has confirmed that the team will look for free transfer opportunities once more during the summer transfer window next year.
Additionally, Youri Tielemans of Leicester City has emerged as a transfer target for the Blaugrana as they look to bolster their midfield department.
At the end of the current campaign, the 25-year-old Belgian international’s contract at the King Power Stadium will expire, and he has made no indication that he wants to sign a new one. Numerous teams, including Barcelona, who are interested in signing him, have been made aware of it.
However, Voetbal Primeur of Belgium, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, claims that Tielemans will probably stay in the Premier League after this season because he has already agreed to join Arsenal before the following one.
Barcelona, as well as teams like Manchester United and Newcastle United, who were also interested in signing the 25-year-old midfielder at the end of the season, will take a hit from this development.
Despite a shaky start to the 2022–23 season, Tielemans has improved recently. In 14 Premier League games, he has scored three goals. He will try to continue this success at the World Cup, where he will play for Belgium.
Tielemans may not be available for Barcelona to sign given that it appears he has already decided to join Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The two Chelsea midfielders Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, who will both be unrestricted free agents in the summer, are among the other players the Catalan giants are considering.
