BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea sacked Thomas Tuchel after backing him with £271 Million this summer.
Thomas Tuchel has been fired by Chelsea following a subpar start to the current campaign.
The Blues, supported by new owner Todd Boehly, spent £271 million on new players during the summer transfer window; yet, the team has already lost three games overall.
The depressing 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday night served as the last straw for the German manager.
Tuchel’s firing was revealed by Chelsea via an official tweet.
The following was included in the statement: “On behalf of Chelsea FC, the Club would like to express its appreciation to Thomas and his staff for all of their efforts during their tenure with the Club.
“After won the Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup during his time at Chelsea, Thomas will deservedly have a place in Chelsea’s history.
“The new ownership group believes the time is opportune to make this transition as it has been 100 days since taking over the Club and as it continues to work hard to move the club forward.

“As the Club moves quickly to appoint a new head coach, Chelsea’s coaching staff will be in charge of the team for training and preparation for our upcoming fixtures.
“Until a new head coach is named, there will be no further comment,”
Less than a month after being fired from his position at Paris Saint-Germain, Frank Lampard was replaced as manager of Chelsea by Thomas Tuchel in January 2021.
In an all-English final in Porto, he led the team to a second Champions League victory, which was followed by Super Cup and Club World Cup victories.
Additionally, the former Borussia Dortmund manager guided the Blues to the Carabao Cup and two consecutive FA Cup finals.
However, when Tuchel publicly criticized his players during the preseason, it seemed as though things at Stamford Bridge were not going well behind the scenes.
That continued into the current season, as Chelsea has suffered league defeats to both Leeds and Southampton.
Roman Abramovich, the previous owner, was notorious for firing managers, but Boehly is giving the Russian a run for his money.
