BREAKING: Ronaldo, Alex Ferguson, Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez are all pictured arriving at the Carrington this morning.
Before meeting with Erik ten Hag to discuss his future at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo has been seen returning to Carrington with his agent Jorge Mendes.
Since Ten Hag took over as United’s first-team manager, Ronaldo, 37, has failed to report for duty and was absent for the entire team’s most recent preseason trip of Thailand and Australia.
The former Real Madrid player missed four friendlies in Bangkok, Melbourne, and Perth because he stayed in Portugal instead of traveling to Carrington on July 4 with the rest of United’s foreign team members.
Richard Arnold and Sir Alex Ferguson were both seen leaving for Carrington this morning.
Ronaldo made it known he wanted to quit United two days before he was expected back because of their lack of activity in the transfer market and inability to make the Champions League, which resulted in a 25% pay cut.
As the two parties try to reach a deal, it is believed that the Portuguese forward returned to Manchester on Monday ahead of meetings with Ten Hag over his future.
Ronaldo is not up for sale this summer, as United has repeatedly stated. According to reports, he still has a significant role to play as he enters the last year of his contract with the club.
If Ronaldo is chosen, Ten Hag has already stated that he won’t start the season against Brighton on August 7 since he won’t have had more than two weeks of team practice.
The new United boss was unable to say when Ronaldo would likely resume training when speaking in Perth last Friday, but he reaffirmed his intention to keep the player at the club.
“I concentrate on the present players. They are doing fantastic. They are in good condition, so I would rather concentrate on and grow that “said Ten Hag. “I can’t wait for Ronaldo to enter the room. Afterward, we’ll integrate him.”
Manchester United new signings Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez were pictured arriving at the Carrington this morning as they set to take part in training with Ten Hag’s Reds for the first time.
