Carlo Ancelotti has told Real Madrid to complete the signing of €70 million Serie A star in January.
Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato reports that Stanislav Lobotka, a midfielder for Napoli, has drawn interest from Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who has played for the Serie A team since 2020, has developed into a key member of the team, particularly over the past few months under Luciano Spalletti.
In fact, as the Partenopei pursue the Scudetto and currently sit atop the Serie A standings, Lobotka has been a constant presence in the middle of the park.
Lobotka recently extended his agreement with Napoli, pledging his loyalty to the Italian powerhouses through the summer of 2027. Real Madrid has nonetheless contacted the Serie A team to inquire about the cost of the Slovakian international during this time.
Jude Bellingham is the midfield reinforcement Real Madrid has their eyes on for the summer of 2023. While Lobotka is being considered by Los Blancos as a potential reinforcement for the holding midfield position, the Englishman is viewed as a replacement for Luka Modric.
The only pure defensive midfielder at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal is Aurelien Tchouameni. Even though Toni Kroos has occasionally filled the position, the German ace has yet to sign a new contract, and even if he does, it will probably only be for one year.
Real Madrid is still interested in adding to the strength of their midfield, and Lobotka has emerged as a potential target.
The current Spanish and European champions have already inquired about the Slovakian international, and according to the report, Napoli will ask for between €60 and €70 million in exchange for their prized possession.
Spending so much money on Lobotka in the summertime would seem unlikely, especially if Real Madrid also wants to sign Bellingham, who could cost more than €100 million.
It will therefore be interesting to see whether Los Merengues decide to pursue their interest in Lobotka or consider alternative options.
