Casemiro Breaks down in tears during a farewell speech as he completes his Manchester United move.
At a very tearful press conference held on Monday morning at the Bernabeu, Casemiro couldn’t help but cry as he bid adieu to Real Madrid.
Before tonight’s match against Liverpool, the Brazilian midfielder will be introduced as a Manchester United player after the Premier League team reached a £70 million contract with Real Madrid to acquire his services.
The 30-year-old is scheduled to make his much anticipated debut on Saturday when United takes on Southampton at St. Mary’s. He will allegedly don the number 18 jersey at Old Trafford.
But first, Casemiro gave a news conference to bid Carlo Ancelotti, Florentino Perez, and his Los Blancos family farewell before boarding a plane for Manchester to meet up with his new teammates.
Along with his own family, the 30-year-old was accompanied by the 18 trophies he won during his spectacular nine-year stint in Madrid.
Casemiro was so moved by the event that he started crying when he viewed some of his own personal highlights from his trophy-laden time with the European champs. Who is in this room chopping onions?
The Brazilian added, as reported on Twitter by Madrid Xtra, “Good morning everyone. Nobody here knew me or my wife when we first arrived. We established our life and family in this young nation.
“I still recall how thrilled I was when I first got the Real Madrid call. I was thrilled to have played at Castilla when I left Brazil because I felt I would have absorbed the club’s principles there.
“I won several titles, but the biggest title is the one I earned when I came here to train every day.
“I want to thank everyone,” he continued, “including my mother, my wife, this club, and all of the players and teammates. Toni Kroos and Luka Modri. They are too important for me to forget. Together, we achieved a lot.
“I’m certain I’ll return at some point. I want to return all of the love they’ve shown me. I’m eager to advance in a major organization like Manchester United.”
Many people have commented on Casemiro’s arrival, including Liverpool player Fabinho. Fabinho thinks Manchester United’s most recent acquisition will easily adjust to life in England’s top division.
Fabinho continued, “I played with him on Real Madrid’s second squad and with the national team. “He is a friend, we always talk, and he’s a decent guy.
“He’ll be a good signing, of course. Casemiro will not have a difficult time adjusting to the Premier League because he is intelligent, a decent player, strong, and good in the air.
