Real Madrid won the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium after defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 to kick off the 2022–23 season.
Thibaut Courtois had to make a few saves in the first half, but goals from David Alaba and Karim Benzema either side of halftime sealed Los Blancos’ relatively easy victory.
With this victory, Real Madrid will now have won the UEFA Super Cup five times, continuing the club’s historic run under Carlo Ancelotti. Los Blancos will now capture their fourth trophy in 2022.
Ancelotti praised Casemiro’s performance as well, calling the Brazilian one of the greatest players on the field on Wednesday and suggesting that the veteran could teach the young Aurelien Tchouameni a lot.
Casemiro warning to Carlo Ancelotti?
The Brazilian midfield veteran is one of the most important players in the Real Madrid squad and he always give everything anytime he is on the pitch. Casemiro picked up the man of the match award last night, after his cameo in the UEFA Super Cup final.
According to Marca, Carlo Ancelotti has described Federico Valverde as ‘UNTOUCHABLE’ in the Real Madrid XI, but Casemiro made it clear after the game against Eintracht Frankfurt.

He made it clear that anybody can be changed in the XI and no player is untouchable as reported.
