Chelsea make progress toward Todd Boehly’s goal of signing Kylian Mbappe as he names a new sporting director.
Todd Boehly, the fan base, and Graham Potter may be excited about Chelsea’s new Sporting director choice since it could end their long-term goal-scoring problems.
The Blues recently finished a summer in which more than £250 million was spent on new hires. Additionally, a sudden new management search process has recently come to an end when Thomas Tuchel was fired by Boehly due to a lackluster start to the 2022–23 season as well as rapidly deteriorating off-field ties.
Potter has been hired in part to improve the team’s performance, but also with the expectation that he will finish in the top four against intense opposition from Man United, Arsenal, and Tottenham.

According to The Times, PSG advisor Luis Campos has already spoken with Boehly ahead of a final appointment being made before the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November. Campos was hired this summer by the Parisians to assist new manager Christophe Galtier.
Campos is renowned for his excellent tenures with clubs like Lille and AS Monaco, where he discovered Kylian Mbappe, Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, and Tiemoue Bakayoko in their infancy. It is said that his friendship with the PSG legend is strong.
Bringing Campos in would mean that once Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has his two-year return to the Premier League done and dusted, the player who has 318 goal involvements in his club career to date could become a viable option on the table once Chelsea look for their next solution to the ongoing number 9 question.
