He arrived in Germany at the beginning of the week to complete his move and get his physical, and he discussed his season-long goals while there.
Hudson-Odoi said, “I’m delighted to be here. Excellent time; perhaps we can bring home a trophy; our team is excellent.
“We want to enjoy it and get as far in the Champions League as we can.”
After arriving, Hudson-Odoi spoke with Leverkusen and disclosed Kai Havertz’s impact and remarks prior to his loan move.
The prospect of playing in the Champions League with Bayer 04 Leverkusen makes the transfer to Germany extremely enticing for Hudson-Odoi.
“This pairing is incredibly appealing, and I’m interested in learning more about the team, the supporters, and the Bundesliga.
In the Chelsea locker room, Kai Havertz exclusively complemented Bayer 04.”
Simon Rolfes, the sporting director, continued, “We have signed a speedy and forceful winger in Callum Hudson-Odoi. He is fully equipped to start assisting us right away.
“Callum has demonstrated his abilities in both the Premier League and the Champions League while playing well over 100 competitive games for Chelsea.
“With him, our offensive strategy gains a new unique element.
“We are thrilled that this transition went smoothly.”
Leverkusen, who are presently 13th in the Bundesliga after winning only one of their first four games of the 2022–23 league season, will have him wearing the number 17.
Thomas Tuchel and Hudson-Odoi will be hoping he has a fruitful time in Germany this term to blossom and show his true quality. If he doesn’t return in January, Hudson-Odoi will return to Stamford Bridge next summer.
