Christian Eriksen Was Asked About Christian Eriksen Was Asked AboutThat Moment With Brandon Williams In First Manchester United Interview.
After a memorable incident last season while playing for Brentford, Christian Eriksen was questioned about his “relationship” with Brandon Williams.
The second signing of the Erik ten Hag era, the free agent Danish international signed a three-year contract and joined Manchester United.
Eriksen has only recently arrived at the club’s Carrington base and participated in first-team training, despite United having announced the signing on July 15th.
Additionally, he performed the customary media tasks like picture shoots and interviews for the official club outlets.
The former Spurs and Inter Milan player was asked about his interaction with Williams, who is now his teammate.
Williams, who is on loan at Norwich, was rugby tacked by Eriksen, who halted a counterattack.
In a fit of rage, the defender immediately grabbed his opponent’s shirt. He gave Eriksen a great hug though after he realized who it was.
“Obviously we’re aware of the relationship with Brandon Williams and what happened last season,” the interviewer said to Eriksen. “What, we call that a connection?,” he retorted.
In b-roll film inserted into the Eriksen interview, Williams, dressed in his United training gear, could be seen cuddling up to his new teammate.
Eriksen was released by Inter Milan after being equipped with an ICD device following his heart incident while representing Denmark at Euro 2020, as the defibrillator is against Serie A regulations.
Eriksen continued to make an impression during his brief tenure with Brentford, who were eager to prolong his stay in west London.
However, he was unable to pass up the opportunity to work with Ten Hag, who had success at his former club Ajax, and for United.
He told United’s official website: “I want to come here to play football; I don’t come here simply for the logo alone. I want to come here and play.”
“It was amazing and excellent for me to get the decision and the chance of coming to Manchester United to meet with the manager, hear his views, and have dialogues with him on the football terms,” the player said.
Eriksen may make his United debut against Atletico Madrid in Oslo on Saturday, or he may play against Rayo Vallecano in a friendly at Old Trafford the following day.
