The Liverpool training ground had been shut down due to the Covid-19 outbreak and it’s now looking likely that the game against Arsenal will be postponed.
Jurgen Klopp failed to lead the team out against Liverpool due to the virus that he contacted.
It was reported that the Liverpool assistant manager has tested positive for Covid-19 and things are getting worse at the club.
Liverpool will be without Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Naby Kieta, but can Jurgen Klopp cope without these players this month?
1. Mohamed Salah (Egypt)
I would say that Mohamed Salah is the best Liverpool player this season. The Egyptian winger has been performing well in the premier league and champions league this season. He scored more than 14 goals in the Premier League this season and he also scored up to 6 goals in the UEFA Champions League tournament.
He always delivers for Liverpool when the team needed him the most. You could see his performance against Chelsea last week. He did extremely well, but Jurgen Klopp is set to cope without the Egyptian winger due to the AFCON 2022. He will be representing his country in the tournament.
2. Sadio Mane (Senegal)
Sadio Mane is one of the Liverpool key players and he is also an important player in the Senegal national team.
He couldn’t stay back because the majority of the African players in Europe are all representing their countries in the tournament.
The only star player who is injury free and failed to travel to his country, is Hakim Ziyech.
The Moroccan manager decided not to include him in the squad despite that he is injury free.
Mane scored the first goal against Chelsea last week Sunday and he is set to be in action with his country this month.
Jurgen Klopp will cope without the Senegal international and that could affect the team’s performance.
3. Naby Kieta (Guinea)
Jurgen Klopp will cope without Naby Kieta this month because the midfielder will be representing his country in the AFCON tournament.
Kieta is a top player and he has done extremely well this season. He is injury free and he will be heading to the Guinea international duty.
Kieta is one of the key Liverpool midfielders and he has proven himself this season. He delivered against Manchester United and Watford.
The German manager will make his selections without these three players and Liverpool has a lot of matches to play this month.
Including the semi-final against Arsenal, the game could be postponed, but it might take place this month. The decision has not been made by the premier league yet, but it was reported that Liverpool has appeal.
Liverpool are currently chasing Manchester City in the premier league title race, but things are complicated now, due the Covid-19 outbreak and the 3 key players that are currently out due to the AFCON 2022.
This month is going to be a tough one for Jurgen Klopp. Manchester City will only be without Riyad and I think that the manager has many options in that position.
