Cristiano Ronaldo, a striker for Manchester United, has been charged by the English FA for his actions following United’s match against Everton last year.
In an embarrassing video that surfaced after the Red Devils’ defeat to Everton in April, Ronaldo is shown slapping a cellphone out of the hands of a young supporter at Goodison.
The incident was investigated by Merseyside Police, who also issued a warning to the player.
Merseyside Police stated in a statement sent by the authorities, “The problem has been dealt with by way of conditional caution. The situation is now over.
It’s thought that Ronaldo agreed to compensate the student.
Ronaldo’s problems now appear to be far from done after the FA announced they would be moving forward with filing accusations against the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged with violating FA Rule E3 for an incident that happened following Manchester United’s Premier League game against Everton FC on Saturday, April 9, 2022, according to the FA’s official statement.
“It is alleged that the forward engaged in improper or violent behavior following the final whistle.”
United replied to the FA by stating that they are aware of the FA’s stance and will back their player throughout the charge.
It is now unknown what sanctions the FA might decide to impose against Ronaldo if they take problem with him and judge him to be guilty.
United supporters will be praying that this most recent setback won’t hinder their star player’s attempts to reclaim a starting position or possibly ruin his season.
When club football resumes, Ronaldo, who is presently on Portugal’s international trip, will be seeking to participate in the crucial match against Manchester City.
