Cristiano Ronaldo has received a new offer worth €225 million per year after his departure from Manchester United.
According to rumours, Cristiano Ronaldo has been presented with a massive three-year contract for £186 million.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s contract with Manchester United was mutually ended earlier this week.
United decided to fire their No. 7 without offering any sort of compensation as a result of his contentious interview with Piers Morgan, in which he attacked the team and manager Erik ten Hag among others.
Ronaldo, who scored for Portugal against Ghana on Thursday to make history by becoming the first player to score in five World Cups, is currently without a club.
However, CBS Sports reports that Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia has made Ronaldo an enticing offer.
The $225 million package would allow the Real Madrid star to continue playing into his 40s, an ambition that Ronaldo has frequently mentioned.
The 37-year-old has been linked with Newcastle United, Chelsea, and Inter Miami, but it’s thought that all three clubs have scaled back their pursuit of the Champions League’s all-time leading scorer.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Chelsea after his departure from Manchester United. It was reported that he’d replace injurued Karim Benzema, but a deal seem unlikely.
Ronaldo revealed in the explosive interview that he submitted a transfer request in the summer transfer window and turned down a lucrative €350 million offer from an unnamed Saudi organization.
“Yes, it is true, it is true. However, what the media continues to report is nonsense, claiming that no one wants me.” To be honest, I was pleased to be at Manchester United, and I was inspired to have a successful season.
“However, they keep saying that no one wants Cristiano. How is it that they do not want a player who scored 32 goals last year, including for the national team?
It is very difficult. However, I also believed that I was extremely content with my situation and that I was still able to score goals.”
Ronaldo spoke in a remarkably brief press conference on Thursday following Portugal’s 3-2 triumph, lasting just 2 minutes and 12 seconds. Ronaldo was chosen Man of the Match.
He hardly answered two queries before declaring that his chapter with United is now “closed.”
