Darwin Nunez’s Liverpool career explodes into life against RB Leipzig with FOUR goals.
In their third preseason match, Liverpool destroyed RB Leipzig 5-0 thanks to a spectacular four-goal haul from Darwin Nunez.
After joining Liverpool in a club-record £85 million deal from Benfica last month, the Uruguayan international had gone two games without scoring.
But on Thursday in Germany, he decisively put an end to that brief dry spell by scoring four goals in the second half as Liverpool defeated Leipzig.
With a deft finish, Mohamed Salah gave the Premier League club the lead in just eight minutes for Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Nunez was one of four Liverpool players who entered the game off the bench at halftime, and it took him just three minutes to score.
Nunez went up to take the penalty shot after Luis Diaz was fouled inside the penalty area, despite Leipzig goalkeeper Janis Blaswich blocking his attempt.
Three minutes later, he scored again, giving Liverpool a 3-0 lead. He easily finished past Blaswich.
In the 69th minute, the striker finished off his hat trick by putting the ball home from close range following another excellent Liverpool play.
And he scored his fourth goal right before the game’s end when Blaswich was once more unable to save the Uruguayan’s feeble attempt.
It’s understandable why Liverpool fans were ecstatic about Nunez’s performance.
When Liverpool plays Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday for their second preseason game, fans will be hoping he keeps up his goal-scoring streak.
Then, on July 30, they will compete against rival Manchester City for the Community Shield. On August 6, they will play away at Fulham in their first Premier League game of the year.
The Liverpool fans are so excited to see him score his first ever goal for the club and I think that the burden on him has vanished despite that it’s just a friendly game.
