Edouard Mendy started the game against Liverpool as the first choice goalkeeper and he kept Chelsea in the game until the final whistle.
He made some super saves during the game, but the manager decided to change him before the extra time whistle.
Kepa Arrizabalaga came on as expected. Thomas Tuchel’s believe is that Kepa Arrizabalaga is the best penalty saver at Chelsea.
As we all know, Kepa Arrizabalaga always delivered when Thomas Tuchel called upon. After he came on, he didn’t save any penalty and he became the only Chelsea player to miss his penalty.
Edouard Mendy Performance Against Egypt In The AFCON
We all watched the AFCON tournament and Edouard Mendy kept Senegal in the game until the final whistle.
He saved some unexpected penalties against Egypt and it’s clear that he knows how to save a penalty.
In my own opinion, Thomas Tuchel should have given him the chance to prove himself. He could have saved one penalty.
Anything can happen in football, but I would have given Edouard Mendy the chance to prove himself because he did extremely well during the game and he could have become the Chelsea hero in the penalty shootout.
