England manager revealed the reason

England manager revealed the reason why Sancho and Rashford snubbed as Maguire and Luke Shaw makes the England squad.

In contrast to Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw remain in Gareth Southgate’s most recent England roster.

Many find this surprising considering how well both of the aforementioned forwards, especially Marcus Rashford, have started the season under Erik ten Hag.

In six Premier League games for Manchester United so far this season, Rashford has scored three goals and contributed two assists, with his most recent triumph being a fantastic performance against league leaders Arsenal.

Both players were supposed to reclaim their spots in Gareth Southgate’s squad, but they have both been left out.

Marcus Rashford has recently displayed some positive signals, according to Southgate, who was speaking about Rashford.

He is a player we are familiar with, so if he can perform well over the next three weeks, he will undoubtedly be considered for the World Cup.

Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw have maintained their positions in the England team despite both being dropped to the bench thus far this season.

Both players were key members of Southgate’s team in the past, and both scored goals for England in the most recent EURO 2020 competition last summer.

When asked why the two are still in the team after losing their spots for their clubs, Southgate responded, “Clearly, we have a number of players who are not playing a lot of minutes with their club, like Ben Chilwell, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, and Kalvin Phillips.”

While not ideal, we believe they have been and will continue to be significant players in our team.

With this statement, it is evident that Southgate chose the pair despite their recent struggles at club level owing to what he knows they can provide him.

Dean Henderson is another person who has been given a call-up to the England team. Henderson, who is now on loan from Manchester United to Nottingham Forest, has earned his call-up after putting in some strong work for the Midlands club thus far.

In my opinion, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho deserve a place in the England squad, what are your thoughts?
