Erling Haaland makes feelings clear about Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema despite a failed move.
Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland has identified Real Madrid captain, Karim Benzema, as the player he wants to emulate.
Haaland said that Benzema is insanely good, adding that the France striker has developed into a better player over the last few years.
Erling Haaland is one of the players that the Real Madrid board admire. The Norwegian international was ready to join the Spanish giants this summer, but a deal couldn’t go through.
Despite that Real Madrid missed out on Kylian Mbappe, they failed to sign a new striker this summer.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, the 22-year-old said (via the Manchester Evening News): “I don’t know what will happen, but it must always be about learning, about developing. You can never stop looking for new ways to become better.”
“Look at Karim Benzema at Real Madrid,” he continued. The fact that he has suddenly improved as a player in the last few years at the age of 34 is unbelievably impressive. That’s what I want to do always.
Earlier this summer, Haaland finished moving from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City.
The international player from Norway has had an outstanding start to his Pep Guardiola’s team career, scoring three goals in three Premier League games for City.
