The German manager faced the media ahead of the UEFA Champions League game against Lille on Tuesday. Thomas Tuchel talks about the feeling ahead of the game.
He shared his thoughts on the current form of Romelu Lukaku and we’ll be talking about everything he said ahead of the game.
Thomas Tuchel about struggling strikers at Chelsea
“It’s not the easiest of places for strikers, I don’t know why it’s like that. We demand a lot of our strikers in defending.
“We want to be physical and hard working, not shy to make it a physical and not just skillful game.
“We created many chances where we find it hard to convert the goal. Now we struggled to create many big chances for our forwards.
“It’s not the time to laugh at Romelu Lukaku, he is our player and we’ll protect him.
Thomas Tuchel on the injury update
The Chelsea captain is doing much better than Callum Hudson-Odoi, he trained yesterday, but Callum didn’t train.
Mason Mount had a good training session yesterday, but he will still try to return to the training today, before the game.
Mason Mount could be involved in the game, if he receives a medical green light. James and Ben Chilwell are still out.
Thomas Tuchel on Lille
“They have a fantastic coach and a group of players. They are very competitive when I was in Paris.
“You could feel that they are a strong and emotional club. They have the chance of playing this game as underdogs because they have nothing to lose.
“We’ll prepare the team as we always do, hopefully we’ll find out best performance, which we usually do in cup and knockout matches.
