Excl: Chelsea star has informed Xavi Hernandez that he will not be joining his team as he is set to sign a new two-year deal with the club.
According to reports from Gerardromero, Cesar Azpilicueta has informed Xavi Hernandez that he will not be joining his team this summer.
The Chelsea captain is on the verge of signing a new deal with the club.
Cesar Azpilicueta is being RESTRICTED from moving to Barcelona by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.
Azpilicueta and Barca have long-standing personal agreements, so it was anticipated that this summer he would be permitted to travel back to Spain.
Azpilicueta’s transfer to the Spanish powerhouses is thought to cost roughly £3 million, compared to Chelsea’s asking of more like £10 million.
But according to The Times, Boehly wants to keep the Spanish defender in west London for the forthcoming campaign.
The 32-year-old’s contract at Stamford Bridge was set to expire in the summer, but after he made 35 appearances the previous season, an automatic one-year extension was triggered in March.
