Excl: Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski among five players to receive highest rating on FIFA 2023.
In advance of this month’s release of FIFA 23, FIFA has officially revealed the top 23 players. The highest rating this time is capped at 91 as opposed to past editions where Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo frequently reached 93 or 94.
Five players have received that honor, including Messi and Robert Lewandowski, who is currently a member of Barcelona. The two received a top 91 card, along with Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema, and Kevin de Bruyne.
With 48 goals in the three club tournaments, Lewandowski was by far the top scorer last season. However, Benzema likely wins the award for best player after winning the league and UCL and scoring 44 goals.
It makes perfect sense why they would receive the best ranking in the game. While Messi’s season wasn’t the finest, FIFA ratings are also based on history and talent, so a 91 is the absolute minimum he merits.
Mbappe, who serves as the sport’s official mascot and had a respectable season with 39 goals, is the official poster child. We can clearly understand why he shares the same podium, even though his performances probably don’t compare to the other three.

De Bruyne’s situation, however, is intriguing. It is a little unexpected that he has been ranked 91 on a scale of 1 to 100 because he was undoubtedly Manchester City’s finest player as they easily won another Premier League championship.
With 90 points each, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Cristiano Ronaldo, Thibaut Courtois, and Manuel Neuer are in the group directly beneath these five.
Neymar, Son Heung-Min, Sadio Mane, Joshua Kimmich, Casemiro, Alisson, Harry Kane, Ederson, N’Golo Kante, and Jan Oblak are all included in the third tier at 89.
