“I will do everything to keep Frenkie De Jong, he want to stay” Barcelona president Joan Laporta claims that they are not open to selling Frenkie.
Joan Laporta’s comment about Frenkie De Jong was shocking as it was reported a few days ago that a move to Manchester United is getting closer.
The Barcelona president made it clear that they are not open to selling the Dutch midfielder as he is one of the best in the world.
Laporta also talks about the possible arrival of Raphinha as he confirmed that they are in talks with Leeds United for his signature.
Joan Laporta: “There are several clubs who want Frenkie de Jong, not just Manchester United, but we have no intention of selling him!”
“We have NO intention of selling Frenkie de Jong – he wants to stay at Barcelona.”
“Frenkie de Jong is one of the best midfielders in the world and we are happy to have him.”
“I will do everything I can to renew de Jong’s contract, but there is also a problem with the salary and it needs to be adjusted.”
Joan Laporta on Raphinha: “We are communicating with Raphinha and have spoken with Leeds, but the thing is that that there are other clubs that want the player and are making their proposals.”
Will Frenkie De Jong stay?
Joan Laporta’s comments was shocking, but I don’t think that Frenkie De Jong will stay at Barcelona this summer and everything indicate that he is joining Manchester United.
The Barcelona president also made a similar comment when Lionel Messi nears Barcelona exit last summer, he claimed that he will “do everything to keep him.”
Christensen and Kessie to be announced
Barcelona will announce the signing of Franck Kessie and Christensen next week. It has been confirmed and it’s likely to be on Tuesday and Wednesday.
