Jadon Sancho discusses what Manchester United worked on in training After losing to Brentford and Brighton.
Man United fell to Brentford 4-0 last weekend, but they came back to defeat Liverpool 2-1 on Monday at Old Trafford.
Jadon Sancho of Manchester United has disclosed that Erik ten Hag worked on “transitions” following the loss to Brentford.
Sancho and Marcus Rashford both scored once as United defeated Liverpool 2-1 on Monday. Following two humiliating losses to Brentford and Brighton, Ten Hag’s team had the ideal retort. Sancho opened the goal for United because Liverpool was unable to contain United’s ferocity from the outset on every area of the field.
After only 15 minutes, Sancho’s expertly timed strike stunned Liverpool, and Rashford increased the Reds’ lead after the break. Rashford made an excellent shot, and it was commendable of him to score after a well-executed counterattack.
Towards the end, Mohamed Salah scored, although it was only a small consolation. Ten Hag and Sancho spoke to MUTV following the game to discuss United’s outstanding performance after the team’s 2-1 victory over rival Liverpool.
As a result of last week’s performance, Sancho told MUTV, “We knew tonight we had to show drive and belief.”
“I’m overjoyed that we scored three points today. Yes, [excellent transitions] are definitely something we’ve been focusing on in training over the past week. It did today, but now the challenge is to keep up the enthusiasm and carry it every week.
“We were aware that Ten Hag’s style would be intense from preseason on. We enjoy playing this way as players. We are able to deliver these kinds of shows because we are young and vivacious. It hit us hard coming off the loss last week.
We had to change course, and as I’ve already indicated, we must maintain the current momentum. To be truthful, I been in those circumstances a lot before the goal.
I knew I had to remain calm once I had sliced inside. I could see the hole, and I had faith in myself to fill it.
“You need to calm down and gather yourself.”
