Joao Felix breaks silence over €113 million rumoured Manchester United move this summer.
In response to rumors that Manchester United offered a British record transfer fee to sign him this summer, Joao Felix has addressed the rumors.
Felix transferred from Benfica to Atletico in 2019 for a club-record £106 million, the fourth-highest trade in the annals of sport. And the 22-year-old is starting to prove he was worth the investment after a lackluster start to life in Spain.
Joao Felix, a forward for Atletico Madrid, has spoken out about rumored Manchester United interest, saying he was not aware of the Premier League giants’ massive £113 million offer this summer.
In the summer transfer window, the Portuguese star was reportedly the subject of a shock late move to Old Trafford amid rumors the Red Devils had made an approach for the attacker.

Erik ten Hag was rumored to be interested in signing the Portugal international this summer as a headline signing, and it was reported that United had submitted an offer beyond £113 million (€130 million) to test Atletico’s resolve.
However, the deal fell through when Atletico forbade Felix from departing during the summer transfer window. The forward also denied knowing about any potential move to England when asked if he was aware of United’s alleged advances.
“I didn’t hear anything; that was the president’s problem to solve. I’m here,” he said in a detailed interview with Marca.
When the two teams were paired up in February, Felix was appreciative of United and his international teammate Bruno. Atletico finally won 2-1 on the season. And rumors that he could later push for a transfer to Old Trafford were prompted by his flattery of the playmaker.
Felix remarked in February that “[Fernandes] and I exchanged texts when the draw was made. Bruno is a very, very excellent player. It is extremely comfortable to play with him.” He always picks the best choice to offer you a chance to score when he has the ball, which is why he receives a lot of assists.
