La Liga defender tipped Real Madrid duo to win the Ballon D’Or in the future after Karim Benzema.
In advance of Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Sevilla later tonight, defender Alex Telles asserted that Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Jr. had the potential to win the Ballon d’Or in the future.
Vinicius and Rodrygo, according to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, can both win the Ballon d’Or, just like Karim Benzema did this year. Telles concurred, adding the following (h/t AS):
They possess every quality necessary to succeed. With effort, they can achieve their goals. They exhibit traits that are distinctly Brazilian and are young, quick, and skillful. Since Madrid has many stars, I must be ready to face them even though I just know the two of them.
Since returning in Spain last summer, Telles was asked if he had kept in touch with the Real Madrid offensive pair. Telles replied:
My siblings are them. I speak with them in the Seleçao every time. They are among the best in the world, so it will be good to see them again. However, there is no friendliness on the field; instead, there will be a battle, and after it is over, we will converse. After Sunday, I’ll be hoping for the best in their games.
Vinicius Jr.’s custom of dancing to celebrate his victories had caused a lot of controversy, and the Brazilian had even received racist taunts. The Sevilla left-back offered his perspective on the situation and stated:
Respectfully, you are free to do as you please. Brazilians enjoy joyfully celebrating and being joyful. The highest point in football is the goal. Vinicius, in my opinion, did not treat anyone poorly.
When questioned about taking on an improved Real Madrid team at the Santiago Bernabeu, Telles responded as follows:
“We avoid going into the field if we are terrified. You must go in with passion, just like we did in the second half of the season’s match against Valencia. Although they are a formidable opponent, we are enthusiastic.
