Pep Guardiola, the manager of Man City, has ruled out the possibility of a swap deal involving Neymar of PSG, while he acknowledged that such rumors about his side happen every year.
Pep Guardiola has refuted claims that Manchester City turned down the chance to recruit superstar Neymar from Paris St. Germain.
According to French reports, City was offered the Brazilian attacker but rejected PSG’s bid to sign him to a contract in the Premier League. But after adding Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez to a team that scored 99 goals to win the title the season before, Guardiola thinks he has all bases covered when it comes to scoring goals.

The City manager said, “I’m sorry, but that’s not true. The facts are incorrect. Neymar is a fantastic athlete, and from what I’ve heard, he’s also a really lovely man. It’s not right, though. Manchester City will purchase 150 players each summer.
At the spectacular 72,000-seat NRG Stadium, City will take on Mexican team Club America to further their preseason preparations.
Guardiola is also upset that Phil Foden, John Stones, and Ilkay Gundogan ruined his plans to ensure that the champions start the new season well by being turned away from admission to the US because they lack a covid passport.
Guardiola had hoped for a full-strength team, but the trio will train with the club’s young team in Croatia since they weren’t completely immunized.
Have Your Say! Would Neymar be a good fit at Man City? Tell us what you think here!
Yes, it’s disappointing, he acknowledged. They should be here, please. The only time we were all together was during our second season, when we finished with 100 points.
Since then, four players have always arrived, followed by another one a week later. Every year, we start seasons with major issues and lose ground. I had hoped that at the end of the season, we may all be together, but that hasn’t happened because of the players’ individual circumstances.
But that is how things are. We must adjust if we want to move forward. Pre-season used to last three, four, or even five weeks, but today it only lasts one. But the three guys are in good shape. They are working out with the Under-23s, but they’ll be fine when they rejoin us.
