Man Utd injury updates: Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Van De Beek and Facundo Pellistri expected return date.
Four players are now out with nursing issues, and some won’t be back for a time.
Erik ten Hag will have to use every aspect of his team this season amidst a busy schedule.
In a press conference on Wednesday before Real Sociedad’s Europa League defeat, he made this admission. He declared, “We not only have a team, we have a squad.
We require everyone because we have several games to cover. We have a lot ahead of us, including the World Cup, the national teams, and all of the English championships.
“The Premier League, of course, and the Europa League, where we are currently getting in.” Injury is an inevitable part of the game, but with the Reds playing typically two games per week from now until the mid-season break for Qatar 2022, every setback will be felt more keenly.
It makes sense that Ten Hag would want players on the physio table to return to the field of play as soon as possible. His current group has four individuals who are now receiving medical attention.
Luke Shaw: Ever since Tyrell Malacia replaced him against Brentford at halftime, the left-back hasn’t been included in the starting lineup. The nature of the England international’s “minor complaint,” which prevented him from playing in the victory over Leicester, is yet unknown.
He was supposed to play versus Sociedad, but he was not included in the matchday squad. Given the unpredictability of his setback, Shaw is a question for the trip to Moldova with little information regarding when he will return.
Van De Beek: Many believed the Dutchman’s Reds career would take off under former Ajax manager Ten Hag, but this has not happened. He was the only player to appear in every preseason game, however this season he has only played 19 minutes of football and has yet to start a game.
Due to a knock, he was left off the team against Arsenal. The 25-year-old, who was supposed to rejoin the team on Thursday but was once again left out, might be okay to travel to Moldova if the game proceeds in light of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s passing.
Next week is when they should return.
Anthony Martial: Due to ongoing injury issues, Anthony Martial Martial has only played 45 minutes of football this year. The striker missed the defeats to Brighton and Brentford before suffering an Achilles injury that has kept him out of the last four games.
The attacker was unable to train with the club before Sociedad’s defeat, and if next week’s games go on, he won’t be able to play.
Date of anticipated return: N/A
After a lackluster preseason, the 20-year-old forward is seen as a fringe player in Ten Hag’s plans. After only 13 minutes of play in the 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in Norway, his summer came to an end with a twisted ankle.
Ten Hag is getting close to regaining his full fitness, but he hasn’t been seen since. The management predicted that he wouldn’t return before September when he spoke last month.
