Manchester City 4-3 Real Madrid: Carlo Ancelotti’s Mistake Hunts Him, Poor Defending And Player Ratings As Madrid Lost

Manchester City 4-3 Real Madrid game was entertaining tonight and I think that, this is how a UEFA Champions League semi-final clash should be.

The tonight’s result was surprising and as a football pundit, who watched the game from the stand, I will be analyzing the game, including player ratings and errors made by the manager.

Errors made by Carlo Ancelotti against Man City

The Italian manager could be afraid of giving Camavinga a chance from the start, which is very wrong. I think that the French midfielder deserves to start the game tonight.

The Real Madrid midfield lacks energy and Kevin De Bruyne makes use of those opportunities.

Manchester City 4-3 Real Madrid

Toni Kroos played well, but without Casemiro in the midfield, Ancelotti needs a fresh young energy in that midfield and the best option is Camavinga.

The manager made a similar mistake against Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea, but you could see Camavinga’s performance from the bench.

He always changed the game and brings energy to the midfield, create chances and defends well.

Poor Real Madrid defends contributed to the defeat

The Real Madrid defense was too poor and Manchester City cruises pass them. David Alaba came off in the second half and I think that Ferland Mendy is not fit enough.

This is the reason why the team conceded a lot of goals against Chelsea in the second leg. The defense was not coordinated and I think that Rudiger will be helpful next season.

Player Ratings

Karim Benzema – excellent

Vinicius Junior – good

Kevin De Bruyne – excellent

Ferland Mendy – good

Phil Foden – good

Bernardo Silva – good

Match Analysis

Both teams played really well tonight and they gave it all, but I think that Real Madrid could have done better, if the defense was coordinated.

You could see that the Real Madrid attacks was dangerous, but something needs to be changed in the defense and the midfield.
